                                           Subject Pronouns

Um subject pronoun, também conhecido por subjective ou subject personal pronoun, é usado para substituir pessoas por nomes comuns.

Exemplos:

John is a doctor - He is a doctor
The laptop is on the desk - It is on the desk

Um subject pronoun é usado quando o pronome é sujeito da oração (da frase).

Examplo

______ did the job.
I, you, he, she, it, we, e they todos encaixam-se perfeitamente no espaço em branco e são por tanto, subject pronouns.

Um subject pronoun indica:

·         Número: singular ou plural,

·         Gênero: masculino ou feminino,

·         Pessoa: primeira, segunda ou terceira pessoa.

dica: no plural se tiver I usa We, se tiver You usa You, se não tem I, não tem you usa They

Exercícios: 

A) Substitua o nome entre parênteses pelo personal pronoun:

1- ________________ often reads books. (Leila)

2- ________________ is watching TV. (Alan)

3- ________________ is green. (the dress)

4- ________________ are on the wall. (the pictures)

5- ________________ drink goat´s milk. (Adam and You)

6- _______________ remind me a warm safe place. (her eyes)

7- _______________ have a beautiful pet. (My husband and I)

                                      Object Pronouns

Um object pronoun, também conhecido por objective pronoun, funciona como o objeto de um verbo ou de uma preposição.

Exemplos:

·         He begged her to live with him. (her é objeto do verbo begged e him é objeto da preposição with)

·         She told them the truth. (them é o objeto do verbo told)

Object pronouns são usados como substitutos dos nomes ou pronomes como objetos dos nomes já que na frase se sabe quem é o objeto.

Exemplos:

·         She's my friend. I really enjoy being with her. (her substituiu: She)

·         I like this film. I saw it last week. (it substituiu: this film)

Object pronouns vem depois de um verbo de ou uma preposição. 

Exemplos:

·         I like you but you don't like me.

·         Do you really hate her?

·         She loves sitting next to him.

·         She always writes e-mails to us.

·         He's talking to her about it.

Exercícios: 

A) Substitua o nome entre parênteses pelo personal pronoun:
